So you Want to Get Healthy?

Git Fit Colville is a chance for all of us to join together as a community to improve our health through healthy lifestyle choices, especially exercise and nutrition.  Anyone Living within a 15 mile radius of Colville may participate.  No matter how healthy you are, no matter what your level of fitness, We Want You to Join Us!!!

 

Through the Get Fit Colville Program, our community has lost almost 6,000 pounds! 

 

 

 

This year, for every 1 pound we lose as a community Mt. Carmel and Colville Medical Center will each donate 1 pound of healthy food to our local food bank!

If you eat 3,500 calories more than your body needs, you will put on about 1 pound. If you use up 3,500 calories more than you eat, you will lose about 1 pound in weight.

 

 

Statistics show that 65 percent of adults in the United States are overweight or obese.  In the state of Washington, 22.2 percent of adults are obese and 36.2 percent are overweight.  Stevens County statistics show 26.9 percent of adults are obese and 34.6 percent more are overweight.

The 5 Complete Health Makeover Participants for our first year were:

Basil Bowe, he has lost over 40.4 pounds and 16.34% of his body weight since June of 2008

Shannon Henry, she has lost over 33.8 pounds and 16.68% of her body weight since June of 2008

Christy Iverson, she has lost over 34.6 pounds and 16.26% of her body weight since June of 2008

Louise Pearson, she has lost over 20.2 pounds and 9.36% of her body weight since June of 2008

Mila Stewart, she has lost over 19 pounds and 11.95% of her body weight since June of 2008

 

As a group they have lost over 148 pounds!!!
